International driving license as ID?

Hey, so i currently have a full UK drivers license which in the past I have used when going out to clubs & bars. However, about a month ago while I was out I ended up losing my drivers license (misplaced it). It was never handed in by anyone to the club that I was in at the time so I have ended up having to send off for a new one. Im thinking about getting an international drivers license (uk) as well which will only cost �5 something that I could maybe use when I go out instead of taking my actual drivers license. But i was just wondering, do clubs & bars accept uk international drivers license' or is it not valid enough. Its completely the same as a regular drivers license but except it just states it is international at the top of the card? would this be ok for ID ?
